From Press Release
NXT Lacrosse Club has officially landed the best faceoff coach in the country.
NXT LC is pleased to announce the hire of John Bodnar as its Director of Faceoffs. In his role, Bodnar will continue to work with and develop the NXT LC faceoff specialists, a position that has arguably been the strongest position group of any since NXT LC’s inception. Bodnar will be tasked with developing NXT LC’s curriculum for faceoff specialist development, as well as working with each team to help develop wing play.

NXT LC’s youth and high school faceoff specialists will get extra training sessions with Bodnar, who has established as the country’s top faceoff coach. Every faceoff specialist that he has worked with at NXT LC and Episcopal Academy has committed to a Division I school and his Philly Face-Off League attracts the best faceoff men from all over Pennsylvania and South Jersey. The Philly Face-Off League has quickly established itself as the best place for faceoff specialists to get specialized work in against the top competition in the area. Anyone who’s anyone in the Philly faceoff scene has worked at the Philly Face-Off League.
“John’s work with our faceoff guys has been second to none,” Director of NXT LC Marty Kupprion said. “He’s a teacher by trade in the classroom, but also on the field. He’s mentored guys like Dylan Protesto (Penncrest All-American state champion/Hartford), Tom Meyers (Radnor state champion/UMass), Justin Schwenk (Spring-Ford/Monmouth), Christian Feliziani (Episcopal Academy All-American/Ohio State), Hunter Mazur (Strath Haven/Army), Griffin Ernst (Episcopal Academy/Lafayette), Jack Henderson (Episcopal Academy), James Reilly (Conestoga) and Nick Gutierrez (Manheim Township), among so many others. It’s not a coincidence that we always have excellent faceoff guys. Everybody wants to work with John and he’s going to continue being a huge asset to us.”
NXT LC players will also have constant access to Bodnar, especially in their recruiting support provided by NXT LC. NXT LC faceoff specialists will get to work exclusively with Bodnar this fall every Wednesday and Thursday nights at Main Line Sports Center. He will also be coaching NXT LC’s faceoff specialists at two fall events.
“I’ve loved working with the NXT LC faceoff guys and I’m pumped to take things to another level as the Director of Faceoffs,” said Bodnar, who has also coached NXT’s Cradle Lacrosse and Trashcan Lacrosse. “NXT always has great players for me to work with and it’s particularly rewarding to be able to develop kids into top-flight players.”
