Nathaniel Johns
Nathaniel Johns

High School: Glen Ridge High School, N.J.

Graduation Year: 2016

Position: Midfield and Attack

College Choice: Swarthmore College

Club Affiliation: NJ Riot 2016

Major lacrosse honors, All-Star teams, Camps, Showcases: 3rd team all state for freshman and sophomores during my sophomore year, super soph all star, Maverik Showtime, Delaware team camp uncommitted all star, fall Nike Blue Chip.

Academic honors, service projects: High Honor roll my junior year, regular honor roll every other year; President of homework club (tutor 7th and 8th graders); President of Sportsman Service League (community service club); Captain of varsity soccer and lacrosse teams.

What will you major in/study? Economics and possibly business

Why did you choose the school? “It has incredible academics, and a great coach. I’ll be an impact player early on (I believe and hope).”

Outlook for 2016 HS season: “Most of our starters were seniors and have graduated. We are going to need some younger players to step up and make an impact. We contest with Mountain Lakes for the Group 1 final and they are kind of in the same situation. It should be very interesting and I am hopeful.”

Thank You: “I want to thank my high school coaches, Carl Houser, Bryan Armstrong (taught me how to play defense), and Adam Torrisi. I also want to thank my club coach, Rob Novack, and my the club director, Lee Southren. I want to thank my teammates for making me better every day. Finally, I want to thank my parents who have both spent so much time and a good deal of money to help me get to the place I am now. My dad taught me how to play lacrosse and he went through everything with me.”

Other schools considered? Gettysburg, Franklin and Marshall, Bowdoin, and Connecticut College
