Bishop Shanahan 2016 attackman Eli Goforth has committed to play Division III lacrosse at Lynchburg College.

Eli Goforth ledger:

High school: Bishop Shanahan High School

Graduation Year: 2016

Position: Attack

College Choice: Lynchburg College

Club Affiliation: Philadelphia Freedom

Major lacrosse honors, camps, and showcases: Jake Reed Nike Blue Chip, FLG All Stars, Chester County All Stars, Bison Brawl All Stars

What will you major in/study? Psychology

Why did you choose the school? “Lynchburg College was just the right choice for me not only because of the beautiful campus, but also the opportunity to play for a great program that was just in the NCAA Championship. Also, learning from an awesome coaching staff, led by Coach (Steve) Koudelka, will push me to become the best that I can be.”

Thoughts on your HS team’s season? “We lost a great group of seniors, but are returning most of our starting offense and great goalie and LSM. I know the younger guys will step into some big roles. I also expect Coach Heisman and the rest of our coaching staff to prepare us to contend for our fourth straight Ches-Mont title and make the state playoffs again.”

Thank You: “I would firstly like to thank my parents for all the support they have provided to me and also for never giving up on me along with the countless hours spent in the car driving me to tournaments. I would also like to thank my high school coaches, Jon Heisman, Paul Meyers, Eric Carruthers, Chris Saggessy, and Jeff Poake, for helping with me in my development in a very important time in my career as a player. I would like to also thank my Freedom coaches, Kevin Goforth, Charlie Rafferty and Vincent Bonaddio for the support in the process. I would also like to thank my youth coaches; without them I am confident I would not be the player or person I am today and this would have not happened without Coach Bob Miller and Alan Butcher. Finally, I would like to thank all my Shanahan and Freedom teammates over the years for always pushing me to become better.”

Maplezone Sports Institute, the official sponsor for Phillylacrosse.com boys’ recruits, congratulates Eli Goforth.
