Lionville U15A repeats as Chester County Lacrosse Association champs

The Lionville U15A lacrosse team won its second consecutive U15A championship with a convincing 12-8 win over previously unbeaten West Chester on Wednesday night, June 3rd at Kelly Field in West Chester. They opened the playoffs with a win over Kennett then avenged both regular season losses by knocking off Coventry in the semi-finals and then West Chester in the final.

Coach Charlie Rafferty, Jack Riley, Evan Waitte, Jacob Morrow, Head Coach Bob Miller, Zach Hurchalla, Zach Lee, Grady Meredith, Nic Pezone, Nick Higgins, Asst. Coach Tim Waitte Not pictured – Asst. Coach Kevin Goforth, Drew LoPolito

The team was anchored by a strong defensive effort from Zach Lee, Jacob Morrow, Zach Hamilton and Stuart Regitz. The solid goaltending of Casey Hammond and Nic Pezone combined for 12 saves.

Brian Miller led the offense with 4 goals and 1 assist while Gabriel Goforth, Zach Hurchalla and Brian Rafferty all had 2 goals. Jack Riley and Evan Waitte each had 1 goal. Goforth and Waitte both chipped in with 2 assists while Nick Higgins also had an assist.

At the face off X, Evan Waitte won 11 of 16 face-offs and Zach Hurchalla won 2 of 3. LSM Stuart Regitz led the team with 7 ground balls on the evening.

Lionville finished the season at 11-2.
