.@iamnxtsports announces hire of Ellis Mair as Director of Participant Health and Safety

NXTsports is excited to announce the hire of Ellis Mair as Director of Participant Health and Safety. A long-time NXT team member on a part-time basis, the now full-time Mair will be tasked with leading NXT’s Safety Initiative as well as staffing and hiring all athletic trainers for all of NXT’s programming.

“Bringing Ellis on-board full-time has been a longtime goal of ours at NXT and we couldn’t be more thrilled to have her,” NXT CFO & General Counsel Joel Zuercher said. “NXT is dedicated to the safety and overall health of all of its participants, so we strongly feel that her addition helps set the standard for safety in youth sports.”

Mair recently earned her Master’s degree in health education from Boston University. She served as the school’s graduate assistant athletic trainer for the field hockey team before being tabbed the staff athletic trainer for the field hockey and men’s rowing teams.

Mair earned a bachelor’s of science in kinesiology in the athletic training option at Penn State University, where she has served as the staff athletic trainer and medical suite transport for the Penn State Sports Camps. She also served as the head athletic trainer at Monsignor Bonner and Archbishop Prendergast High Schools.

“I have been part of NXT for several years and I am extremely excited to officially join the NXT family,” Mair said. “As the Director of Participant Health and Safety, I plan to utilize evidence-based medicine and best practices to create safe, healthy environments for our children to grow and develop. I also look forward to working with Premier Orthopaedics, which will provide our patients with excellent health care.”
