Host Upper Dublin bolted to a 9-2 halftime lead and defeated Wissahickon, 14-7, Monday in a first-place battle among top rivals in the Suburban One American Conference.
The Cads, ranked No. 5 by Phillylacrosse.com, improved to 8-0 overall and 7-0 in the league while the Trojans fell to 7-2 overall and 6-1 in the league.
The Trojans shut out the Cards in the third quarter to make it a 9-6 game heading into the final frame, but the Cards dominated the final period. Michael Mullen had four goals and two assists, and Evan Scott had a hat trick while Michael Sowers had seven assists and one goal Max Winebrake added a pair of goals while Nicholas Vernacchio and Paul Chung each had a goal and an assist. Jack Rapine led the defense.
For the Trojans, Eric Kaufmann had three goals and two assists. John Esposite added a pair of goals, and Jack Shea and John Carrozza both had one goal and one assist. UD goalie Bobby McPeak was credited with seven saves while his counterpart, Jack Myers, had eight saves.
Central Bucks East 11, Central Bucks West 3
Matt Vetter led the Patriots with four goals and one assist while Logan Nelson and Owen Griffin had three goals each and Dustin Buchanan scooped up nine ground balls and had two caused turnovers.
Plymouth Whitemarsh 9, Cheltenham 3
Austin Betterly scored three goals while Alex Savarese and Kenny Diamond each added a pair.
Thomas Hipwell collected a hat trick for the Panthers and goalie David Friedman was credited with 10 saves.
Abington 19, Council Rock South 11
Cameron Leech had seven goals and three assists, Joey Lomady scored six goals and and Hunter Jones added five goals and one assist for the Ghosts.
CB South 15, Archbishop Wood 1
Jamie Renneisen, Brendan McGrath, Chris Tanner and Jake Henze each scored two first half goals as Central Bucks South built a 10-1 halftime lead. Renneissen joined long-poles Stephen Nowelski, Tim Ross and Mickey Pendleton and goalies Robbie Richick and Brad Ross in a stand-out defensive effort for the undefeated Titans, who improved to 7-0.
Academy of the New Church 15, Robbinsville 4
Jesse Frazier had four goals and one assist and Dave Closterman had three goals and two assists for ANC.
Holy Ghost Prep 23, New Hope-Solebury 2
The Firebirds’ Michael Major had four goals and four assists and went over the 200-point mark (now has 143 goals, 60 assists, 203 career points) in his career. Matthew Roxberry added four goals and one assist.
Perkiomen Valley 11, Pope John Paul II 2
Matt Dudley had three goals and one assist to pace PV.
Owen J. Roberts 16, Boyertown 5
Austin Delgatto had five goals and one assist for OJR, which also got hat tricks from Sam Garges (three assists), Austin Koury (assist) and Evan Massa.
Spring-Ford 14, Methacton 1
Jake Hvazda had four goals and three assists for the Rams.
