The Central League boys’ lacrosse race tightened Tuesday with several overtime games, leaving two teams tied atop the standings with 7-2 records and three more right behind with 6-3 marks.
Matt Moore scored with 2:37 left in OT to lift visiting Garnet Valley past Conestoga, 9-8. The jaguars are 7-2 and the Pioneers 6-3. Meanwhile, Jack Wilson scored in OT to lift host Radnor past Penncrest, 7-6, leaving the Lions tied with GV at 7-2. Radnor is also 6-3.
Meanwhile, Springfield-Delco – winners of six straight Central league games – remained in the race at 6-3 with a 9-3 triumph over Lower Merion.
In Radnor’s win, Alex Andersen had 13 saves for Radnor and Drew Ryan scored twice. Alex Bonnett (4G) had tied it with 3:45 to play in the fourth period.
In Garnet Valley’s win, And Greg Taicher (2G, 1A) sent it into overtime.
Moore led the Jags with three goals and two assists and Timmy Bradley scored twice while Daniel Lanham won 18 of 21 face-offs.
Springfield-Delco continued its hot streak as Lucas Spence had five goals and an assist and James Spence posted 14 saves.
