Lucas Spence erupted for seven goals as Springfield-Delco rolled past Central Bucks East, 12-6, today in the District 1 semifinals at Henderson.

The win pushed the fourth-seeded Cougars (16-4) into the title game against fellow Central League member Conestoga Thursday at Henderson at 6 p.m. The Pioneers downed Radnor, 6-5.
CB East (18-3), already assured of a state berth, will play Radnor in the third-place consolation game at 4 p.m. at Henderson.
Dan Wasson scored the first two goals for Springfield-Delco and Spence made it 3-0 late in the first period. Spence added three more goals in the second quarter as the Cougars pulled ahead, 8-3.
“They were finding me,” said Spence.
Springfiled-Delco has won 14 outof 15 since a 2-3 start. One of those defeats was a 9-8 overtime loss to Conestoga.
“The one-goal losses kind of built us and showed us what we were doing wrong,” said Spence. “It showed us what we had to do.
“Now everyone knows their role and is just doing their job. They are not doing too much and we’re just winning lacrosse games.”
Kyle Long added a goal and two assists for the Cougars, who got great face-off work from Zach Dworkin (14 for 22).
“A kid like Lucas Spence, he is such a special player,” said Springfield-Delco coach Tom Lemieux. “When he gets going early, we’re going to have a good day. I also thought Zach Dworkin did a great job at the X. CB East’s guy is really good.”
“It was an overall team effort Our defense played really wlel at times and I think our offense played really well at times and they piggybacked off each other.
“We have a really big challenge Thursday against a team that’s playing really well. It should be fun.”
Owen Griffin had four goals and one assist as well as six groundballs for CB East.
“We’ll persevere,” said East coach Bruce Garcia. “We’ll come back and play Radnor and go from there.”
