.@USLacrosse U15 girls’ Northeast regionals: @Ultimategoallax Elite claims 3rd, advances to Nationals

Reilly Fletcher scored three goals to help Ultimate Elite (PA) rally past BBL Elite 2018 Black (NJ) for third place in the girls’ division of the US Lacrosse U15 Northeast Championships Sunday in Amherst MA.US-lacrosse1

Ultimate advances to the U15 National tourney in Aurora (CO) along with three other teams.

Sydney Paoletti and Haley Tietjen paced BBL Elite with two goals each.

The Long Island Yellow Jackets 2018 Blue defeated the Yellow Jackets 2017 Gold, 9-4, in the final.

Yellow Jackets 2018 Blue, comprised entirely of eighth graders, won the Long Island battle against their ninth-grade club teammates by jumping to a 7-1 halftime lead.

Madison Sanchez, Taylyn Stadler and Madison Rielly each scored twice for the Yellow Jackets 2018, which led by as much as 9-1 in the second half.

Rachel Masullo posted two goals for YJ 2017.

Earlier in the day, Yellow Jackets 2018 had defeated BBL Elite, 15-5, in one semifinal game and Yellow Jackets 2017 beat Ultimate Elite, 11-4, in the other semifinal.

Granite State U15 (N.H.) downed the Outlaws (MA), 8-3, in the fifth-place game.

In addition to championship player medals, US Lacrosse also awarded the “Keeper of Lacrosse” Sportsmanship Award to one team in each division. The girls’ winner was New England Storm (CT).

The US Lacrosse Northeast Championships for boys’ and girls’ youth teams will move to Wilmington (DE) in 2015, and the tentative dates of competition are June 19-21.
