All five ACC teams (Duke, North Carolina, Notre Dame, Syracuse and Virginia) will return to PPL Park, the site of last season’s event, with the top four finishers from the regular season competing for the ACC Championship. The four-team tournament will commence with semifinal action on Friday, April 24, with games at 5:30 p.m. and 8 p.m. The championship game will be played on Sunday, April 26, at 1 p.m. The fifth-place team that does not qualify for the tournament will play Penn on Saturday, April 25, at 7:30 p.m. All game times are subject to change.
All four games will be played in the intimate atmosphere of PPL Park, which serves as the home of Major League Soccer’s Philadelphia Union. The 2015 tournament will mark the fifth time in the event’s 27-year history that it has been held at a neutral site. Prior to coming to PPL Park in 2014, Orlando, Florida, played host in 2001, followed by Baltimore, in 2005 and 2006.
ACC lacrosse fans were treated to the thrilling finishes at last season’s Championship with all three tournament games being decided by one goal. Following the Championship, a league-record six ACC teams earned berths in the 2014 NCAA Championship, and three advanced to Championship Weekend. The national championship game featured two ACC teams for the third time in NCAA history, with Duke defeating ACC Champion Notre Dame, 11-9, to claim its third NCAA title in the last five years.
