Saturday’s HS roundup: Springfield-D boys top Downingtown East, Tower Hill’s Pettit scores 100th; Conestoga, Radnor girls win

Lucas Spence collected three goals and two assists and Dennis Charamella scored twice while Zach Dworkin won 10 of 14 face-offs to lead host Springfield-Delco to a 9-3 win over Downingtown East Saturday in non-league boys’ lacrosse action.

The Cougars – who were ranked No. 7 by Phillylacrosse.com entering the week – improved to 6-2. the 10th-ranked East Cougars fell to 5-3.

Tower Hill 17, Wilmington Charter School 4

Junior Andrew Pettit (Lehigh commit) scored his 100th career goal and finished with four tallies and three assists.

Germantown Academy 4, Hatboro-Horsham 1

Garrett Trucksess scored twice and Ian Davies posted eight saves for the Patriots (4-4).

Marc Poust had nine saves for the Hatters (5-4).

Girls

Radnor 15, Westminster (GA) 6

Hannah Proctor had two goals, five draws, six groundballs and three caused turnovers while Reilly Masterson had a goal, six draws and five groundballs to help the Raiders (8-1) defeat the defending 5A state champs in the first game of a Georgia Spring Break trip.

Manheim Township 13, Cape Henlopen (DE) 12, OT

Sayde Walker scored the game winner with an assist by Elizabeth Petrosky to help the Blue Streaks complete a comeback win from a 5-0 deficit. Emily McBride had five goals and an assist for Manheim Township (8-1).

Karalyn Joseph and Sarah Tappan each scored three goals for Cape, which fell to 6-1 with its first loss.

Conestoga 13, Downingtown East 11

Monica Borzillo had three goals and an assists and Scottie Growney added three goals while Laney Stenson had 12 saves to lead the Pioneers (4-6).

Nicole Barrerta had five goals and two assists and younger sister Victoria Barretta added four for Downingtown East (6-2).
