Michael Mullen scored the game-winner late in overtime and had six goals while Bobby McPeak made 13 saves Saturday as host Upper Dublin defeated Conestoga, 8-7 in a non-league boys’ lacrosse game.
Jack Rapine was a standout on defense with eight groundballs and also had an assist while Michael Sowers dished off six assists as the Cards (14-2) rallied from a 6-3 deficit in the fourth period.
Jake Scott had four goals and Matt Schleicher added a pair for the Pioneers (9-5).
La Salle 6, Episcopal Academy 4
The Explorers outscored the Churchmen, 3-1, in the final period to seize the victory over hard-luck EA. Mitch Soufleris (two goals) and Steve Hudak (two goals) broke a 3-3 tie and Colin MacDougall made eight saves for La Salle (8-5).
Curtis Zappala had a goal and two assists and Colin Reder made nine saves for EA, which is 6-11 and has lost seven games by two goals or less.
Bishop Shanahan 9, Holy Ghost Prep 5
Alex Wagner had two goals and two assists and John Mehok added two goals and an assist while Jason Yoquinto made eight saves for the Eagles (11-1) in the non-league win.
Greg Price was masterful in making 19 saves for Ghost (8-6) while Bennett Zaba led the attack with two goals and an assist.
Germantown Academy 6, North Penn 4
Garrett Trucksess scored four goals and Ian Davies posted nine saves for GA.
Luke Homan and Matt Brady each scored twice for the Knights.
Malvern Prep 18, Strath Haven 7
Kyle Anderson had two goals and two assists and Kevin McGeary added a goal and three assists and eight others scored at least once to lead the undefeated Friars (19-0).
Tucker Carney had three goals and an assist for the Panthers.
Radnor 8, Downingtown West 6
Tom Meyers won 16 of 18 face-offs and Jack Norton had two goals and two assists to spark the win for the Raiders (12-2).
Hunter Lewis had two goals and an assist for the Whippets.
Shipley 16, St. Andrew’s (DE) 6
Ian Walsh posted 16 saves while Nick Yi had three goals and two assists and Tate Gallgher and Frank Campanale each had three goals and an assist for the gators in the non-league win.
Springfield-Delco 7, Hatboro-Horsham 5
Mike Gerzabek scored three goals and Zac Dworkin won 11 of 13 face-offs for the Cougars (11-3) in the non-league win.
Zach Erwine scored twice and Marc Poust had 14 saves for the Hatters.
St. Augustine (NJ) 8, Lawrenceville 6
Dean DiSimone had two goals and an assist and Joe Eisele scored twice while Ernie Alvino posted 13 saves for the Hermits (10-5) in the victory.
Incomplete – Avon Grove 6, Garnet Valley 3 – game suspended in 3rd period
The Red Devils led, 6-3, with about 4 minutes to play in the third period when inclement weather suspended play. It’s unknown if the game will be completed.
