Saturday’s boys’ roundup: SCHA tops Utah team in OT, Garnet Valley edges HG Prep in OT, GA wins in 2OT, Shawnee is 8-0

Tasso Karras had three goals, including the game-winner in OT, as host Springside Chestnut Hill Academy toppled Corner Canyon (UT), 8-7 Saturday in a game involving the East vs. West.

Springside Chestnut Hill (6-7) also got three goals from Jack Lamb.

Corner Canyon, 11-2, is the No. 2 rated team in Utah in the LaxPower state rankings and had defeated Good Counsel (MD), 9-7 on Thursday, in its first game in the East. Max Asay and Casey Rose had two goals each for the Chargers.

Germantown Academy 10, St Joseph Metuchen (NJ) 9, 2 OT

Garrett Trucksess scored his third goal of the game at 3:36 in the 2nd OT to lift GA (5-5).

Kyle Stenberg led St. Joseph (6-5) with three goals.

Owen J Roberts 11, Emmaus 9

Sam G arges and Austin Delgatto had four goals apiece and Christian Wood posted 10 saves to power the Wildcats (9-2) to a non-league triumph.

Great Valley 8, Boyertown 7

Jack Waite had three goals and three assists and Ethan Joseph scored three goals for Great Valley.

Codey Prindle collected 22 saves in a standout effort for Boyertown (3-5 overall), which got strong defense from Kyle Lee, Justin Endy and Dave Pettine. Leading the offense for the Bears were Mike Palladino and Brock Johnson with two goals and one assist each.

Shawnee 7, St. Augustine Prep 4

Shawnee improved to 8-0 as Kyle Borbi tallied three goals and Reece Tursi had 14 saves.

John Fox led the Hermits with one goal and one assist.

Garnet Valley 12, Holy Ghost Prep 11, OT

Brandon Dowd (two goals) had the game-winner in OT off a Kyle Roberts (five assists) dish to win ti for the Jaguars. Roberts assisted on four of the last five GV goals and scored the other while Dylan Lee had three goals and two assists and Daniel Lanham won 24 of 26 face-offs.

For HGP, Greg Price was a standout in goal with 18 saves and Michael Major scored four goals.
