Wayne Matsinger won his 200th game as Penncrest head coach Saturday at the Lions humbled Kennett, 16-3.
Matsinger, in his 15th season, is 200-91 overall. He also spent 11 years as an assistant to Jef Hewlings.
Penncrest is 4-0 and ranked No. 7 by Phillylacrosse.com.
“It’s a great milestone for the program,” said Matsinger. “There is tons of tradition, and one of the greatest moments for me is having all our assistant coaches be ex-players.
“Everyone pitches in throughout the years and so many great coaches have worked with the kids – and they see that. It’s really a tribute to those guys. It’s exciting for the program; I am just happy to be able to hang in there all these years.”
Matsinger’s highlights on the field include three Central League titles, two EPSLA Final Four appearances and a berth in the finals in 2000.
On Saturday Dylan Protesto led with four goals and an assist, while winning 14 of 19 face-offs. Will Manganiello posted a hat trick and two assists, Drew Hanna had two goals and four assists
and Alex Bonnett and Ryan Kinnard each scored twice.
Holy Ghost Prep 7, Springside Chestnut Hill 6 (OT)
Michael Major (3G, 2A) had the game winner with 18 seconds left in overtime off an Alex Yake feed as Ghost rallied for a dramatic win.
Anthony Gentile tied the game with one second left in regulation and Greg Price made 18 saves, including one on a breakaway in OT. Holy Ghost was down, 6-1, at one point.
Tasso Karras had three goals for Springside Chestnut Hill.
Marple Newtown 13, West Chester East 4
Tom Higgins (three goals, one assist) and Bill Morgan (two goals, two assists) led the Tigers to victory.
Central Bucks East 10, Downingtown East 6
The Patriots held the Cougars scoreless in the first half and controlled the tempo and the game. East took a 4-0 lead into halftime and led 6-3 heading into the final period.
Five Patriots finished the game with two goals each – Matt Milici (two assists), Matt Schmidt, Matt Heim (one assist), Matt Vetter (two assists) and Dustin Buchanan (one assist).
Nathan Wingate led Downingtown East with two goals and an assist.
Souderton 8, New Hope-Solebury 5
Cameron Trick scored five goals and Nick Anderson had a pair of goals for the Indians, who improved to 3-2.
Ridley 7, Central Bucks West 5
Brock Anderson had three goals and Nolan Fox added two goals and one assist for the Green Raiders (4-0). Dawson Faust made eight saves in net and split time with Connor Flynn, who registered three stops.
Ryan Green and Lucas Janos each scored a pair of goals for the Bucks.
Archbishop Ryan 12, Northeast 3
Shane Taylor (3G 3A), John Ligori (2G 2A) and Austin Slawter (3G) led Ryan.
St. Joseph’s Prep 9, Radnor 4
The No. 13 Hawks (2-1) toppled the No. 14 Red Raiders (3-1) as Pat Walsh scored three goals and Mike Marchese made 12 saves.
Tom Meyers went 14-for-17 at the X for Radnor.
Unionville 20, Upper Darby 3
Danny Donovan had six goals and six assists and Jimmy Nowoswiat added five goals and one assist while Ryan Hartley made 12 saves for the Indians.
