Below are photos of Philly players from four different men’s Division I games last weekend.
Notre Dame, featuring eight Philly grads, toppled Jacksonville, 19-7.

Notre Dame featured seniors Liam O’Connor (Haverford School, FO), Stephen O’Hara (St. Joseph’s Prep, DEF) and Westy Hopkins (La Salle/Lawrenceville School, ATT), sophomores Conor Kelly (Haverford School, red-shirt, goalie), Jack Sheridan (Malvern Prep, DEF) and Adam Goins (Conestoga, MF) and freshmen PJ Finley (Malvern Prep/Lawrenceville School), FO) and Anthony Marini (St. Joseph’s Prep, ATT).
O’Connor, coming back from a serious knee injury that cost him half of last year, was brilliant with 15 groundballs while winning 19 of 25 face-offs and scoring once. Kelly – the Phillylacrosse.com co-Player of the Year in 2011 – made four saves and allowed four goals in three periods for his first career win and O’Hara was a standout on defense. Hopkins also started and the other four saw time.
At Air Force, Keith Dreyer (Malvern Prep) had a goal, an assist and a groundball. Sophomore defenseman Alex Warden (Garnet Valley) had two groundballs and for Furman, freshman Jon Vandenberg (Garnet Valley) had a caused turnover.
At Navy, TJ Hanzsche (Malvern Prep) had three goals and a caused turnover for the Mids in a 9-8 overtime loss to Georgetown.
At Maryland, a host of Philly players helped the Terps down UMBC, 14-3. Featured here are Maryland’s Tyler Brooke (Conestoga, attackman) and Mike Bender (Emmaus, defenseman).
