The Old School program focuses on skill development and was the first club program to offer high level college and professional instruction, according to owner John Nostrant (Haverford School coach). Nostrant was pleased to recently announce that former World Champion player and coach and former Philadelphia Wings standout and assistant coach Adam Mueller was named as Field coordinator and director of Coaching.
Mueller, a standout at St. Joseph’s-Metuchen (N.J.), was a four-year All-Conference pick at Michigan State University, and played 11 years of professional lacrosse in the MLL and NLL. He coached eight years with the Wings, Minnesota Swarm, and New York Titans, leading all three teams to the NLL playoffs.
Mueller was the NLL Coach of the Year in 2008 with the Titans and is crediting for coaching and helping develop elite players such as Casey Powell, Ryan Boyle and Brendan Mundorf.
At the amateur level, Mueller developed and instructional model for all ages of development for youth lacrosse organizations and has coached age groups from U-7 through pro level at the town, club and regional levels including Avon Grove Youth, Penn Star, Philly Fever, Old School Lacrosse and Mesa Fresh.
Mueller also developed off season skill sessions curriculum that trains players in both Canadian Box and American field skills to play faster and more efficiently.
Besides Mueller and Nostrant – an Eastern PA Chapter Hall of Fame inductee and coach of the undefeated 2011 national champions – the coaching staff includes Mike McGuane, Bob DiIonno, Mike Rufo and other college and high school coaches.
Club members will also have the opportunity to participate in various off season skills training sessions, recruting seminars, and other lacrosse related services.. Visit the website at http://www.oslacrosse.com for options.
