From Press Release
The American Lacrosse Conference, ACC, America East, Atlantic 10, Big East, Ivy League, Mountain Pacific Sports Federation and Centennial Conference will all be represented at the Girls Philly Showcase Camp.
There isn’t a better opportunity for the best 2016s, 2017s and 2018s in the country to work with some of the top coaches in the game.
The fourth annual Girls Philly Showcase Camp, presented by Nike Lacrosse and hosted by NXTsports, will be held July 14-16 and will feature coaches from a dozen Division I schools and one Division III school at Westtown School’s picturesque campus.
Syracuse University assistant coach and recruiting coordinator Regy Thorpe headlines the Camp as its director. Thorpe has been a driving force in helping Gary Gait’s Orange earn the current No. 2 spot in the IWLCA Coaches Poll. He’ll be joined by coaches from Brown, Colorado, Marquette, Michigan, Saint Joseph’s, Vermont, Virginia Tech and Franklin & Marshall. F&M is currently ranked No. 5 in the Division III IWLCA Coaches Poll.
The Camp’s final staff members are being finalized and will feature a total of 12-14 lead instructors. Campers will benefit from a low, optimal player-to-head coach ratio, and will also learn from the many current college players serving as assistant instructors.
The Philly Showcase Camp combines exposure opportunities with an education focus that aims to emulate the life of a Division I player. Campers will go through three days of college-style practices and games in addition to positional clinics, a recruiting seminar, off-field training sessions and a classroom experience in order to improve each camper’s skills beyond simply game situations.
“We feel that we’ve been able to assemble an unrivaled staff that truly enjoys working with and teaching high school players,” NXT Director of Showcase Lacrosse Brett Manney said. “Campers will be able to learn from some of the best coaches in the country while also having the chance to show off their skills, a combination that we feel make this an incredibly unique experience.”
