David Smith log:

David Smith

High School: William Penn Charter School

Graduation Year: 2015

Position: Attack

College Choice: Marywood University

Club Affiliation: Baggataway

Lacrosse Honors: Blue Chip 225 Rising Senior All-Star, Under Armour Shootout, Hotbeds, MVP team camp, 2014 Keystone State Games Mont-co Team

What will you major in/study? Business

Why did you choose Marywood? “I chose Marywood due to its great combination of athletics and academics. The school always seemed like a perfect fit from the minute I stepped on campus. Coach (Tyler) Perrelle is committed to making the team compete every year for a spot in the NCAA tournament and I cannot wait to be a part of that.”

Outlook for your High School team next season? “We lost many seniors this past season, mostly offensive players. We have many young guys that will be able to step up this year and contribute on the offensive side of the field. On the defensive side we have pretty much the whole starting group from this past season. With the challenging out of league competition that Coach McDonough schedules, it should prepare for league and to our yearly goal of winning the Inter-Ac.”

Thank You: “There are many people I would like to thank. I would like to thank my Penn Charter coaches Pat McDonough and Billy McKinney. Without them I would not be the player I am today. I would like to thank my Conshy youth coach Rob Kelly for teaching me the game. I also would like to thank my Baggataway coaches: Tony Verna, Ray Kendrick, Doc, Joe Karpinski, and Adam Eddinger for getting me in front of coaches and also for making me a better player over the course of the summer.

“Lastly, I would like to thank my Mom and Dad for getting me to where I needed to be and for their support throughout this whole process.”
