Conestoga 2015 face-off specialist Sloane Smith has made a commitment to play Division III lacrosse at Catholic University of America.
Sloane Smith log:
High School: Conestoga High School
Graduation Year: 2015
Position: Face-Off
College Choice: Catholic University of America
Club Affiliation: Main Line Lacrosse
Major lacrosse honors: Most-Improved, Top 10 Face-Off Tournament
What will you major in/study? International Business
Why did you choose school? “Catholic University was a great fit from academics to lacrosse. The environment of the campus was welcoming and so were all the players at the school. The coaches’ logic and strategy on approaching the game really stuck out to me. Coming from a Roman Catholic family this was a great opportunity for religion and lacrosse to come together as one.”
Outlook for your High School team? “We are coming together as one and creating great team chemistry. We are doing a lot of off-season work and also tournaments. Hard work and dedication is what we are all about and we know it will show during our upcoming season.”
Other comments: “I want to thank my Main Line Coach, Simon Connor, and also Brian Samson for putting in time on the field; also my Face-Off Coach, John Bodnar, for helping strengthen my face-off skills.”
