Merion Mercy Academy 2016 midfielder Caroline Heath has made a verbal commitment to play Division I lacrosse at St. Joseph’s University.
Caroline Heath log:
High school: Merion Mercy Academy
Year of graduation: 2016
Position: Midfield
College choice: St. Joseph’s University
Club affiliation: STEPS Elite Philadelphia
Academic honors: Honors
Intended major: Possibly pharmaceutical sales or food marketing
Why did you choose St. Joseph’s? “I have spent a lot of time at St. Joe’s over the last four years watching my older sister Allison play for SJU. During this time I fell in love with the school and atmosphere and realized this was where I wanted to play lacrosse and earn my college degree. I also really enjoyed getting to know Coach (Alex) Kahoe after attending two SJU clinics and speaking with her during the recruitment process. I know she is a coach I want to play for.”
Outlook for 2015 HS season: “We lost some very good seniors, but we have several very good returning underclassmen with lofty goals which include winning the Catholic Academies League and qualifying for the State playoffs. I can’t wait for the season to start!”
Other comments: “I would like to thank my family and friends for all their support; especially my parents, for always coming to my games rain or shine and cheering for me and supporting me throughout this process. I would like to thank my coaches, John Geary and Brooke Fritz, for helping me throughout his process and shaping me into the player I am today.”
