But Kyle Anderson made it 6-5 late in the stanza off a feed from fellow sophomore Adam Goldner (one gola, three assists) and Goldner tied it off a pass from Sparky Hilburn (one goal, two assists) with 6:36 to play.
“We definitely have big target on our backs as the season goes along,” said Goldner. “With the undefeated season, It gets bigger and we have won some close games.”
Malvern Prep ended a week which saw it defeat Haverford School, 8-7, in overtime and take over sole possession of first place in the Inter-Ac League.
“We just have to stay focused and stay humble,” said Goldner. “We need to keep treating the season one game at a time and not worry about next week or two weeks after that – we just want to worry about the next game.”
Dean DeSimone led the Hermits with two goals and an assist and goalie Ernie Alvino had nine saves.
Traynor had two goals and Charles Kelly won 10 of 16 face-offs for the Friars. Tripp Traynor and Conor Glanco each scored once.
