Top-seeded Malvern Prep scored 10 straight goals in the first half and coasted to a 14-5 victory tonight over Lawrenceville School (N.J.) in the semifinals of the Inter-Ac Invitational at Cabrini College.

The Friars (23-0) advance to the title game Monday (Cabrini, 7 p.m.) vs. second-seeded and arch-rival Haverford School, a 16-8 winner over Episcopal Academy.
Lawrenceville (11-9) scored the game’s first two goals, but Friars’ defenseman Greg Pelton scored late in the first quarter to launch an awesome 10-0 run that featured four tallies by YBH Audi Volkswagen MVP Sparky Hilburn.
Hilburn finished with five goals and an assist. Charles Kelly also was a standout, winning 22 of 23 face-offs.
“I was feeling it,” said Hilburn. “The expectation are high; we have to get our heads straight and bring out our (best) game for Monday night.”
Kyle Anderson had three goals for Malvern Prep and Pelton scored twice while Carson Cocco made 10 saves in goal.
The Friars will seek a perfect season Monday when they play the Fords, a team they bested twice this year.
“It’s hard to beat a team three times, but we have to have fun with it,” said Malvern Prep coach John McEvoy. “We’ll need to beat people to groundballs and get lots of shots.”
