REGISTER HERE: INDIVIDUAL $145 For 8 weeks TEAM $1200 (teams of 12-16 recommended)
The league is designed for serious lacrosse players who want to use box lacrosse as a means to improve their skills, endurance, competitiveness, and game IQ. The league is open to graduation years 2018, 2017, 2016, 2015, and 2014
All players will be required to go through two weeks of instruction taught by Fusion coaches Kevin Crowley and Steven Holmes before league games start. Both Holmes and Crowley play professional lacrosse in the MLL. Additionally, Crowley stars for the Philadelphia Wings and Holmes is the defensive coordinator at Malvern Prep.
“The instruction period is crucial for a few reasons. The first is is to teach rules and safety. This is not an imitation box league, this is real box lacrosse governed by US Box Lacrosse Association. We teach the game properly so it is safe and fun,” said Fusion Co-Founder and League commissioner Holmes.
“Secondly, we introduce picking progressions and offensive cycles that will allow players to fully grow their game throughout the course of the league. As well, we teach the proper techniques of cross-check jams, can-openers, switching, and playing the two man game on defense. We will give players the base tools they need to best improve over the summer.”
Bucksmont Sports Center is a beautiful air-conditioned facility that also acts as the official practice facility of the Philadelphia Wings. Box lacrosse has been recommended to help players learn valuable skills for outdoor lacrosse and to prevent lacrosse burnout.
