Saint Joseph’s men’s lacrosse redshirt junior attackman Ryan McGee (White Plains, N.Y./White Plains) has been selected the Northeast Conference Men’s Lacrosse Spring Scholar-Athlete award winner, the league office announced on Tuesday afternoon.
A 2014 USILA Scholar All-American, Philadelphia Inquirer Academic All-Area selection, and NEC Spring Academic Honor Roll honoree, McGee led the NEC in scoring with 3.79 points per game and 2.83 goals per game at the conclusion of the regular season en route to being named the 2014 NEC Offensive Player of the Year. The finance major out of White Plains, New York was named Saint Joseph’s Most Valuable Player after leading the Hawks in scoring with 56 points on 34 goals and 22 assists. McGee earned NEC Player of the Week honors a conference-best four times throughout the 2014 season and currently owns 119 career points having reached the 100-point milestone of his career on April 1 of this season.
All scholar-athlete award winners earned a minimum of 60 semester hours at their institution, maintained a minimum cumulative grade-point-average of 3.20 and participated with distinction as a member of a varsity team.
