Fairfield University senior midfielder Eric Warden (Garnet Valley) has been named the ECAC Co-Offensive Player of the Week
Against the University of Delaware, Warden scored a career-best five goals, converting on six shots on goal, and added an assist for a career-best six points in Fairfield’s 18-8 victory. He put the Stags ahead for good in the first quarter with an unassisted tally. He also picked up a ground ball.
Drexel’s Shafer named CAA Co-Rookie of Week
Drexel’s Cole Shafer has been named this week’s Colonial Athletic Association Men’s Lacrosse Co-Rookie of the Week.
Shafer, at attackman, made his debut a memorable one. He scored four goals, including three straight at one point, in the Dragons 11-10 loss against No. 7 Virginia on Saturday afternoon. It was his first collegiate game.
Shafer shared the award with UMass freshman Nick Variano. The Dragons are back in action on Saturday at No. 11 Albany.
