Women’s recruits: MF Tyson (North Penn), DEF Long (Lenape) among Class of 2017 at Limestone

After delivering the best season in program history a year ago, head Limestone women’s lacrosse coach Scott Tucker has announced the addition of 14 student-athletes for the 2014 campaign.

JANE BARTLETT: 5-3, Goalkeeper, East Lyme, Conn. (East Lyme HS)
After striking gold five years ago with the addition of Rashelle McLellan, the Saints all-time leader in wins and goals against average, Limestone goes back to the same program to pick up her potential successor in Jane Bartlett.

An extremely accomplished athlete, Bartlett was a four-year member of the lacrosse program and also competed for the Vikings championship volleyball team during her high school career. On the lacrosse field, she helped lead ELHS to four straight conference championships and was a two-time All-State honoree, garnering First-Team recognition as a senior and Second-Team honors as a junior.

She was also named All-Area by the New London Day all four years, the last three on the First-Team, and All-Area First-Team by the Norwich Bulletin as a freshman, junior and senior. As a volleyball player, she was a part of Connecticut State Championship teams as a junior and senior.

KELLY CHETNEY: 5-9, Midfielder, Oswego, N.Y. (Oswego HS)
A four-year member of the Buccaneers’ lacrosse program, including the last three on varsity, Chetney also played basketball team for two years. She brings championship experience having helped lead OHS lacrosse to a Regional Championship as a sophomore and Section III Championships as a sophomore and junior. As a senior she earned All-CNYELC Second-Team.

JESSCIA ELMS: 5-2, DEFENDER, Severna Park, Md. (Severna Park HS)
Elms played four years of lacrosse, three on varsity, and competed in cross country and indoor track & field for the Falcons. She also helped lead SPHS to Maryland State Lacrosse Championships as a sophomore and junior and played for SPLax Club Team from 2005-12.

KATHLEEN GASSET: 5-4, Midfielder, Cincinnati, Ohio (Sycamore HS)
A four-year member of the Aves varsity lacrosse program, Gasset helped lead SHS to an Ohio State Tournament Runner-Up finish as a senior and was a two time First-Team All-American as a junior and senior. She was also a three-time All-District selection, earning First-Team honors as a junior and senior and Second-Team recognition as a sophomore while notching All-Conference honors as a junior.

Gasset delivered a career-high 107 goals as a senior and had 56 goals and 34 assists as a junior. She posted 24 goals and 21 assists as a sophomore and finished her career with 187 goals.

KASEY HALODIK: 5-8, Defender, Waxhaw, N.C. (Marvin Ridge HS)
Yet another four year varsity lacrosse player joining the Saints this year, Halodik also competed in hockey for the Mavericks. Named Defensive Player of the Year as a senior, she also helped MRHS to a third place finish in the state tournament and a conference championship during her career. In addition to her high school playing career, Halodik also played club lacrosse for Carolina Select Lacrosse and the Queen City Stars.

AMANDA KLEIN: 5-9, Midfielder, Baldwinsville, N.Y. (C.W. Baker HS)
Competed in soccer and basketball and played four years of lacrosse, three on varsity, for the Bees. She helped C.W. Baker to a tremendous 2013 season with a New York State Class A Runner-Up finish, NYS Regional and Section III Championships and a second place CNYCL National Division Championship.

That same season was named All-CNYCL Second-Team and the Bee’s Most Improved Player. Klein earned NYS Scholar Athlete as a sophomore and junior and also competed with CNY Elite Lacrosse Club and the Star Riders Lacrosse Club.

GINA LEGALUPPI: 5-3, Defender, Glen Arm, Md. (Dulaney HS)
Legaluppi played soccer and lacrosse for the Lions. She saw two years of varsity action with the soccer program and was on varsity with lacrosse as a senior. That season she helped lead lacrosse to the regional semifinals.

MORGAN LONG: 5-6, Defender, Mount Laurel, N.J. (Lenape HS)
Competed in volleyball and played four years of lacrosse for the Indians, the last three on varsity. She earned All-Conference Second-Team honors as a senior and also played club lacrosse for South Jersey Devils.

JAYLEN SCHULTE: 5-5, Attack, Edgewater, Md. (South River HS)
Played four years of lacrosse for the Seahawks, helping lead SRHS to Anne Arundel County Championships as a junior and senior. She also helped them to a District V Runner-Up finish as a junior and competed for the Anne Arundel Crossover Club Team.

ALANA SIMMONS: 5-8, Defender, Greensboro, N.C. (Northern Guilford HS)
A member of the basketball and cheerleading teams, Simmons played four years of lacrosse for the Nighthawks. She helped lead NGHS to a conference championship as a junior, earned High School Academic All-American honors as a freshman and senior and was named Defensive Player of the Year as a sophomore and All-Guilford Conference as a junior.

Simmons also played on the North Carolina National Tournament Team for the U.S. Lacrosse National Tournament during her junior year. In addition to her high school playing career, she played club lacrosse for the Queen City Stars.

SYDNEY TEETER: 5-0, Goalkeeper, Auburn, N.Y. (Auburn HS)
Competed in indoor track for three years and lacrosse for four years for the Maroons and earned All-CNYCL American First-Team honors and Defensive Most Valuable Player as a senior. That same season she was also selected to participate in the Exceptional Senior Game after leading Section III in saves (211) and save percentage (.542).

Teeter was named All-CNYCL American Second-Team as a sophomore with 129 saves and a .466 save percentage and notched 157 saves and a .503 percentage as a junior. She had 72 saves and a .467 percentage as a freshman while posting a .503 career save percentage (569-of-1132). She also played for Star Riders Lacrosse Club for five years.

BRITTANY TYSON: 5-5, Midfielder, Harleysville, Pa. (North Penn HS)
Played four years of lacrosse for the Maiden’s with the last two coming on varsity. She helped lead NPHS to the Suburban One League Continental Conference Championship as a junior and earned All-American Honorable Mention as a senior. Tyson also competed for the Southeast PA Club Team in 2001 and 2012.

MARY-KATE WEAVER: 5-9, Midfielder, St. Augustine, Fla. (Bartram Trail HS)
A four-year member of the Bears lacrosse program, Weaver played the last three on varsity. She helped lead BTHS to district and regional championships and a State Tournament Runner-Up performance during her career and served as team captain as a senior.

SAMANTHA YURECHUK: 5-0, Midfielder, Orangeville, Ontario, Canada (The Hill Academy)
Yurechuk played four years of lacrosse and competed in hockey for the Feathers. She was named top Defensive Player and received the Strength & Conditioning Award as a senior. Yurechuk was also selected as Most Dedicated Player as a junior and senior and competed in the Ontario Summer Games, earning a Gold medal in 2010 and a Silver in 2012. She also notched a Provincial Gold Medal in 2013 and a Silver in 2012.
