Back 2 Basics Lacrosse and the Collegeville Cougars announce the third year of their Sunday Fall Lacrosse Clinics beginning Sept 8 and running for five weeks. The clinics will be led by B2B Founder and Ursinus College Assistant Coach Gary Mercadante, along with other college lacrosse coaches. The goal is to provide a fun learning environment for your son with high levels of repetition to improve the fundamentals of the game and lacrosse IQ.

The 7th Annual Ricky Whelan Dukes Developmental Program, an instructional series that leads to the tryouts for the Duke’s Lacrosse Club. The program – featuring five sessions – is tentatively scheduled to begin on Sept. 8th and continue for five Sundays. The times are tentatively schedule for 4-6 p.m. Coach Joe Proud and the Harriton Boys Lacrosse Boosters will be hosting the clinics. Walkup registration will start at 3:15pm. The Dukes tryouts are tentatively slated for Oct. 13th Site to be determined. This program is for intermediate to advanced high school players. Advanced 8th grade or 7th graders who wish to attend need to contact Coach Jason Christmas (JOHNJC32XMAS@aol.com).
The clinics will be emphasizing high intensity drills and skill sets to improve players’ reaction time and decision making in unsettled/settled transition pressure situations. Up tempo pace will be encouraged defensively and offensively from 1v1 situations to 2v1 and mandown/manup scenarios all the way up to 6v6 settled sets. These sessions will give players preparation for the Dukes tryouts while improving lacrosse IQ and field sense.
Preregistration fees ($375 for all 5 sessions or $80 at walkup registration ) can be mailed and must be received before September 7th. Discount rates (5 members per team) $10 off. KinderLax introductory lacrosse program for boys and girls ages 5-to-10, September 16-19 and 23-26 (6-7 pm) at Wilson Farm Park in Tredyffrin Township. The program is designed to introduce young boys and girls to the great game of lacrosse in a fun, festive and sensible way using soft lacrosse sticks and spongy balls. Daily clinics employ progressive lacrosse techniques that are taught in a participatory and age-appropriate manner using novel drills, creative games and language the players can understand, relate to and retain. The goal of the program is to teach basic stick and motor skills, ambidexterity, mobility and other fundamental concepts that will form a foundation for continued learning, growth and development, all in the context of an energized and supportive setting. Cradle Lacrosse, NXTsports’ educational program for the area’s youngest lacrosse players, announces five different Fall 2013 programs around Greater Philadelphia. Cradle Lacrosse is designed to teach basic lacrosse skills to 4-8 year-old boys and girls in a fun, energizing and supportive environment. Cradle Lacrosse provides all the necessary equipment for the kids so there is nothing for parents to buy, and the curriculum is designed to teach the basics of lacrosse to youngsters in an age appropriate and fun way. All Cradle Lacrosse programs are co-ed, and Cradle features a co-ed coaching staff at each session. Cradle’s young and enthusiastic coaching staff is comprised strictly of former college lacrosse players, many of whom are current educators and also coach lacrosse at the high-school level. All participants at Cradle Sessions receive free shirts and additional Cradle gifts.

NXTsports and Cradle Lacrosse are also excited to announce the following special event
taking place this August: Philadelphia’s world-famous Please Touch Museum will hold its first-ever Cradle Lacrosse Day, on Sunday, August 3rd from 11am-1:30pm. The event is free and is part of the Museum’s Grow Games healthy lifestyle initiative, designed to introduce kids to the basics of sports while making positive choices about health.
At Cradle Lacrosse day, kids will learn the basics of lacrosse right on the Museum’s front lawn. All kids will also have an opportunity to meet and play lacrosse with Brett Manney, the Assistant Captain of the Philadelphia Wings.
Trashcan Lacrosse Fall positional clinics for second to eighth grade boys at Episcopal Academy in Newtown Square and at United Sports in Downingtown. The Clinics start Sunday, October 6 and run each weekend in October. The Trashcan Fall Positional Clinics, led by Trashcan’s full coaching staff, focus strictly on positional skill development while still ensuring that every player who attends has success and a lot of fun.
The Trashcan curriculum maximizes the “touches” players get while truly improving their fundamental skills. Registration for the Trashcan Fall Positional Clinics is open at TrashcanLacrosse.com.
The Trashcan Lacrosse Fall Positional clinics will primarily focus on the individual player and on building the skills that successful attackmen, midfielders, defensemen and goalies need to play at a high level. Trashcan has accordingly designed a curriculum for each position that is innovative and developmentally necessary for positional success.
There is limited space in this program as our goal is to increase repetitions and coach/player interaction.

Malvern Prep Fall Middle School Training and Tournament Team(s), open to all boys’ grades 6-8th. Training sessions will be comprised of drills, offensive and defensive philosophies that the Malvern Prep Varsity High School Team use today. The tournament team will be comprised of 20-23 players. The staff will fill a competitive 2018 (8th Grade) team that may have 6-8th grade players depending on skill level. If there is additional interest and another competitive team can be comprised then the staff will do so. Players who are on the Tournament team will get (3) Training days and (1) Tournament. Those players who do not play in the Tournament will have (4) Training sessions. Training and Tournament Team(s) will be run by current Malvern Prep coaching staff. Sessions will be comprised of an array of Box Skills and drills that are used by many top colleges and professional teams today. The 2013 Philadelphia Lacrosse Association Golf Classic, Monday, October 14th at Bidermann Golf Club in Wilmington. Your participation will support the PLA’s mission to promote the game of lacrosse in the region, particularly the New Start Program, which provides technical and financial assistance to new lacrosse programs. The PLA has provided close to $350,000 in grant support to new lacrosse programs in the area since the outing’s inception in 1993. The PLA is pleased that Vicmead Hunt Club and Bidermann will host the 21st Annual Classic. Originally, the 9-hole private course of Henry Francis du Pont at his Winterthur estate, Bidermann was enlarged, redesigned and established as a private club in 1965 (it later merged with Vicmead). The course offers a traditional style parkland layout with native grasslands separating each golf hole. Please reserve your spot in the outing by registering for the event as soon as possible, but in any event before Monday, October 7th. We have established a new PLA Golf Outing website and encourage you to register on-line (see http://www.plagolfouting.com/). If you are not a golfer or cannot attend the golfing activities, you are welcome to attend the cocktail reception and banquet that begins at 5:30 pm. The National Showcase a one-day boy’s lacrosse teaching and recruiting event at Germantown Academy November 10. The National Showcase will feature the top high school freshman and sophomore boy’s lacrosse players (2016 & 2017) in the country. The unique format will include speed and agility testing, a teaching component from college coaches and showcase games all in front of premier college lacrosse programs.
