Hunter Jones

High school: Abington

Graduation year: 2015

Position: Attack

College choice: Monmouth University

Club affiliations: Dukes LC, Philly Elite/LB3

Major lacrosse honors: 1st team All-Suburban One National League Sophomore year, Honorable Mention Freshman year. 2 year total of 64 goals 53 assists- 117 points

What will you major in/study:

Why did you choose school: “Monmouth University had everything I was looking for in my college choice: A beautiful campus, good academics, close proximity to home and my family, and it’s less than a mile from the beach. I felt that Head Coach Brian Fisher (Ridley grad) and Assistant Coach Andrew Geison were very welcoming on my visit and they are working hard to put together a competitive D1 lacrosse program.”

Outlook for your high school team in 2014: “At Abington the goal is always to compete for the SOL National title and make a run in District playoffs and State playoffs. We return all three starters on Attack and five of our top six middies so offensively we should be fun to watch.”

Other comments: “I’d like to thank my family first and foremost, my parents Chip & Kim, my brothers Zack and Tanner, my sisters Morgan and Cali, my grandparents, and all my aunts, uncles, and cousins for all their support over the years. I’d like to thank all the Dukes LC coaches, especially Ebe Helm, Jason Christmas, Mike Mackrides and Ryan Sankey for giving me the chance to compete for a National Championship with Dukes 1. I’d like to thank the coaches at Philly Elite/LB3 and the entire Banks family for all they did for me and my family over the years. I’d like to thank all my high school teammates past and present and my coaches at Abington, Head Coach Joe Steark, Brian Steark, and my dad, Chip Jones. I’d like to thank all the ALC youth coaches who coached me over the years and helped me develop into the player I am today. And I would like to give a special thanks to my freshman year coach at Abington, Ryan Greer, who gave me a chance to start as a freshman on varsity and who was instrumental in starting me down the recruiting process.”
