Brian “Doc” Dougherty (Episcopal Academy grad) and Drew Adams (Springfield-Delco, Penn State) announced that on July 29th through August 1st they will be holding their 2nd annual “Philly Style Lacrosse Camp” on the campus of Chestnut Hill College in Philadelphia.
Rounding out the coaching staff at this year’s camp will be Kevin Keenan (Springfield-Delco), a former Major League Lacrosse goalie with the Philadelphia Barrage, stand out University of Maryland goalie Niko Amato (La Salle) and Penn State University’s outstanding junior goalie Austin Kaut (Springfield-Delco).

“We are confident no one is going to leave our camp saying they have not improved themselves as a player,” said Dougherty. “If you are serious about improving your game, this is a great opportunity to work with some of the best players at the position.”
The Philly Style Lacrosse Camp is a unique four-day camp specifically designed towards goalie play and teaching the Dougherty and Adams “Philly Style” of playing between the pipes. Over the four-day camp, youth and high school players will learn cutting edge goal tending techniques to improve their level of play through goalie specific drills and game scenarios in addition to seeing hundreds of shots each day.
“We feel that we have a unique opportunity to share what we have learned with the future of our sport, and to give goalies a camp where they are purely focused on improving their performance,” Said Adams.
Ages: 8-18 – Cost: $525 for Overnight & $425 for Day Campers.
Goalies will learn how to stop the ball from some of the best goalies in the world…..literally. Hall of Famer Dougherty & Long Island Lizard & MLL All Star Adams will head up the goalie coaching and teach the Philly Style of stopping balls. Keenan, Amato and Kaut will lead drill as goalies see live shots, watch them-selves on video, chalk-talk, drills and demonstrations.
Attackmen and Middies will learn how to score & refine their shot from current NCAA Coaches and Players. Adam Eddinger (Chestnut Hill College Asst. Coach) will lead the Offensive players coaching. Sean Coleman (La Salle, Harvard) and Joey Sankey (Penn Charter, UNC) will also be on the Offensive coaching staff. Players will learn and improve on dodging, shooting and feeding. Players can expect to take 300 shots a day!
Overnight and Extended Day Campers will learn on the field but have fun off the field as well, with access to Game Rooms, Lounges and the campus Pool (bring your suit and towel).
Overnight campers will get to stay in AIR CONDITIONED dorms and have three meals a day on campus. SHEETS, PILLOW AND BLANKET ARE PROVIDED BY CHC.
