From Press Release
NXTsports is proud to formally announce the hiring of Colin Ambler as Chief Technology Officer, and Warren Danenza as Director, Trashcan Lacrosse & Assistant Director, NXT Lacrosse Club.
Drexel University lacrosse legend Colin Ambler joins NXT as Chief Technology Officer, responsible for researching and implementing short-term and long-term technology solutions for NXT. Prior to joining NXT Ambler established a reputation as a successful lacrosse entrepreneur who founded the Bandits Lacrosse Club and Meltdown Lacrosse Tournament in Montgomery County, PA.
Ambler (Abington grad) graduated from Drexel in 2010 where he was a standout attackman for the Dragons. He twice earned the Colonial Athletic Conference scholar-athlete of the year award, was named an NCAA Academic All-American, and ended his career as Drexel’s 11th all time leading scorer.
Ambler, who was named a Phillylacrosse.com Honor Roll selection in 2010, earned a secondary degree in strategic marketing from Northwestern University in 2012, and currently resides in Chicago where he is pursuing an MBA from the University of Chicago’s Booth School of Business.
Ambler will continue to operate his own business, Baring Lacrosse LLC, and through Baring will continue to host the annual Meltdown tournament at his alma mater, Abington. The sold-out Meltdown has become a much-anticipated fixture on the summer tournament circuit.
Said Andy Hayes, President of NXTsports, “I believe Colin is one of the brightest young minds in lacrosse. At his young age he already has a proven track record of success as an entrepreneur, and we are thrilled to add him to the NXT team as our Chief Technology Officer.”

Additionally, Danenza joins NXT full-time as Director of Trashcan Lacrosse & Assistant Director of NXT Lacrosse Club. Over the last 12 months Danenza – known to everyone as Coach D – has made himself a crucial part of NXT through his work coaching the NXT Lacrosse Club, and coaching in NXT’s Trashcan Lacrosse and Cradle Lacrosse programs.
In his new role Coach D will oversee the development of Trashcan Lacrosse educational programming and curriculum, and will administer the Trashcan Lacrosse and Bandits Lacrosse youth clubs.
Prior to joining NXT Danenza taught 11th and 12th grade English at Oak Charter School in the West Oak Lane section of Philadelphia. This spring he will begin his third year as varsity lacrosse coach at Upper Darby High School.
After taking over a winless program in 2012, last season Warren ended Upper Darby’s 32-game Central League losing streak and sent all nine of his senior lettermen on to college to play Division III lacrosse. Danenza was an All-Catholic League honoree in lacrosse as a defenseman at Cardinal O’Hara High School, and went on to play at Neumann University. He graduated from Neumann in 2008 with a B.A. in English & Secondary Education.
Said Peter Lawrence, NXT’s Executive Vice-President of Educational Programming, “Coach D is a great addition to our NXT team. We always like to hire coaches who are first and foremost educators. Warren’s passion, dedication, experience in the classroom, and ability to work with kids of all ages will strengthen NXT’s innovative lacrosse educational programming.”
