From Press Release
The Boston University men’s lacrosse team held its first practice Thursday afternoon at Nickerson Field under coach Ryan Polley (Malvern Prep) in preparation for its 2013 fall schedule.
It was the first time that the 31 true freshmen and three transfers who made up the program’s inaugural recruiting class took the field together. Polley and his assistants Drew Kelleher and Justin Domingos ran the practice, which lasted over two hours.
The fall schedule will begin with two games at the Northeast Classic, formerly known as the Catamount Classic, held Oct. 13 at Thayer Academy in Braintree, Mass. The Terriers will face Sacred Heart at 10 a.m. before taking on Hartford at 12 p.m. All event proceeds will be donated to cancer research at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
BU will host an alumni game against current and past club team players on Oct. 19 at Nickerson Field. Game time is set for 4 p.m. The final exhibition will take place on Oct. 23 (7 p.m.) when the Terriers host Team England at Nickerson.
