Boyertown senior midfielder Rachael Shaw has made a commitment to play Division III lacrosse at Washington College.
Rachael Shaw log:
High School: Boyertown Area Senior High School

Graduation Year: 2014
Position: Midfield
College Choice: Washington College
Club Affiliation: Dynamite Lacrosse
Lacrosse honors: Varsity letterwinner as Bears captured 10th straight PAC-10 title in 2013
Academic/community service: Volunteer assistant coach for the youth B.O.L.T. program
College Major: Sports Medicine (Pre-Medical)
Why did you choose this school: “I chose Washington College because it is the perfect fit for me. The small town atmosphere and campus are exactly what I was looking for in a school. I believe it is the right place for me to grow both academically and on the lacrosse field. I also really liked the coaches and believe the team is the right match for me.”
Outlook for the upcoming season: “I think we will have a very successful season. Although we lost many key seniors, we also have a very strong senior class this year and a good group of underclassmen. I’m hoping we will capture our 11th PAC-10 title and make it further into districts and states then we ever have before.”
Other comments: “I would like to thank all of my coaches who have made me the player I am today which includes: Pam Wernersbach, Amara Thorton-Brown, Aamina Thorton, Yusuf Brown, and Maureen Burger. I would also like to thank my parents and brother who were always there to support me. Without them all of this would not be possible!”
Other schools considered: Lock Haven University, York College, Shippensburg University
