Boyertown rising senior defender Emily Gerhart has made a commitment to play Division II lacrosse at Lock Haven University.
Emily Gerhart log:
High School: Boyertown High School
Graduation Year: 2014
Position: Defense
College Choice: Lock Haven University
Club Affiliation: Dynamite
Major lacrosse honors: US Lacrosse National Tournament, 2013
What will you major in/study? Special Education
Why did you choose Lock Haven? “I feel the special education program is strong at LHU and I will be able to excel. I am very comfortable with Coach (Kristen) Selvage, Coach (Katie) McConnell, the other recruits, and the current team. They are all very warm and welcoming and I feel at home there. I am looking forward to working with them.”
Outlook for your High School team next season? “I am very excited about our upcoming season this year with 9 returning seniors and last years trip to States under our belt. We now have the experience of playing at that level. We have been playing well together for many years and we have a strong connection on the field.”
Additional Comments: “I would like to thank my parents for all of their love and support through all of my years of playing. Also to my closest lacrosse friends, we call ourselves the six pack: Haley, Maggie, Emma, Rachael, and Alex. They have been my support and advisers since junior high. Thank you to coaches, Maureen Burger and Pam Wernersbach for pushing me to my full potential and believing in me.”
