LaxZone, in only its second year of existence, finished the year undefeated for its first title.

The offense also was led by Kevin Forster (La Salle), Randy Forster (La Salle) and Peter Schwartz (La Salle, Harvard). Other keys on offense this year were Brian McNamara (La Salle, St. Joseph’s), Eric Berger (Penn Charter, Monmouth), Joey Jones (Abington), Zack Jones (La Salle, Mount St. Mary’s), Willy Beury (Upper Dublin, F&M) and Kevin Sonderschafer (Central Bucks South, Chestnut Hill College).

Adoni was dominant all year for LaxZone. His defense was led by Bobby Tait (Germantown Academy, Syracuse), Austin Pifani (Abington, North Carolina) and Scott Beury (Upper Dublin, Franklin & Marshall) as well as Paul Berger (Abington, Widener), Beau Gomez (Wissahickon, Navy) and Anthony Dougherty (Archbishop Wood, F&M). The LSMs were Charles Giunta (Penn Charter, St. Joseph’s) and John Quici (Upper Dublin). The face-off X was handled capably this year by Brett Incollingo (Holy Ghost Prep, Stevens Tech) and Tyler Knarr (La Salle, Georgetown).

Not playing today were Jack Forster (La Salle, Penn State) and Rich Rambo (Abington, Rutgers).

Rob Forster, who coached the offense, said the team meshed well. Many of the players played as youngsters with the Abington Lacrosse Club. Others played for Crooked Crosse.

Adoni, a product of Crooked Crosse, agreed:

“It was a lot of fun to play behind these guys; they made it easy,” he said. “There were not too many shots and when I did get shots they were far out. It was great sitting back and watching while playing goalie.

“It was a good mix. We had a lot of Abington LC players – they were our rival when I was young. This was probably one of the most fun teams I have ever played on – surely for a summer team.”
