Pansini & Mezrow Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll honorees for the week are announced

Pansini & Mezrow and congratulate this week’s honorees for the Pansini & Mezrow Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll. Each winner receives a $50 gift certificate to Starbuck’s. Overall male and female winners at the end of the season will receive a large cash prize.

Boys’ Honorees:Honor-roll

Jake Dean, Shawnee HS, Medford-NJ, Midfielder

College Choice: University of Virginia

Lacrosse Honors: 4 years in Lacrosse Program-3 year starter, All-Conference player with Ground Balls-196 Goals-64 Assists-41 (not including senior year)

Athletic Honors: West Jersey Football League – Scholar Athlete, Al Carino Basketball Club – Scholar Athlet, 4 years in Football Program All-Conference – Wide Receiver -2 years, 4 years in Basketball Program- 2 year starter

Community Service: Medford Football Youth Clinic Coach- 3 years, So Jersey BlackStorm Lacrosse Club Kick-off Clinic

Academic Honors: GPA-3.95 Weighted-5.90, SAT’s-1890, Class Rank-7/378, National Honor Society,
National Latin Exam- Cum Laude, President’s Honor Roll

Ian Callahan, Senior, Marple Newtown, Goalie

College Choice: Considering Virginia and Penn State (for academics)

Lacrosse Honors: Marple Newtown Defensive Player of the Year, ’11

Service Projects: People to People Student Exchange program, Brinker Operation Christmas Baskets 2011 and 2012

Academic Honors: National Honor Society, National Merit Finalist, AP Scholar with Distinction, Distinguished Honor Roll

GPA: 101.5 (that’s an estimate but I know it’s close to that)

Awards: Union League of Philadelphia Good Citizenship Award

Girls’ Honorees

Gabrielle Finley, Junior, Archbishop Carroll, defender

Service Projects: Member of Community Service Core (this year have done can drives, made meals, and held various fundraisers); member of the Pro-life Club and Best Buddies.

Academic Honors: Top ten in class rank since freshman year currently ranked 4th, National Honors Society, Diocesan Scholar, Student Council, Student Ambassadors, GPA 4.0

Awards: Sophomore year- Literature Award, Fine Arts Award, Theology Award.

Annabeth Donovan, Senior, Unionville, Midfield

College Choice: Princeton University (for field hockey)

Lacrosse Honors: 1st Team all Ches-Mont League, 2012

Service Projects: Run For Our Sons Parent Project Muscular Dystrophy, Heifer International, Kennett Senior Center

Academic Honors: National Honor Society, GPA 4.22

Awards: Member of US U-19 Junior National Squad 2013 (field hockey)

Elizabeth Spitz, Junior, Agnes Irwin, Defense-Wing

Community Service: Volunteer at Main Line Art Center, helping autistic children; Summer volunteer in a gene therapy lab.

Academic Honors: 93.2 GPA, Highest Honors in school all 3 years, Latin Cum Laude Award for the past 2 years
