Catholic League girls’ playoffs: Archbishop Carroll, Cardinal O’Hara advance to finals

Archbishop Carroll will shoot for its 13th straight Catholic League girls’ lacrosse championship after claiming a 20-2 victory Thursday over St. Hubert in the semifinals at Neumann University.

The top-seeded Patriots (14-5) will face second-seeded Cardinal O’Hara, which toppled Archbishop Wood, 10-5, in its semifinals. The title game is slated for 6 p.m. Monday at Neumann.

Taryn Deck had four goals and two assists to lead a balanced attack for the Patriots. Isabelle Schmitt and Margaret Filippelli each had three goals and an assist and Natalie Schmitt contributed two goals and three assists.

O’Hara got four goals from Sam Ammacone, three from Chelsea Fox and two goals and two assist from Kasey Jones in its win. Nicole Hutson led Wood with a pair.
