Cabrini College will add four members to its Athletic Hall of Fame during its induction ceremony, to be held on Friday, September 27 in the Dixon Center’s Nerney Field House.
Former men’s lacrosse standout Kevin Camp, current field hockey and women’s lacrosse head coach Jackie Neary (Temple, Ridley), former softball coach Bridget Orchard and former men’s basketball student-athlete Eric Tidwell make up the Hall’s seventh induction class and will join the 26 current members.
“It is a privilege to recognize these four individuals for their accomplishments,” said Brad Koch, Cabrini’s Director of Athletics and Recreation. “Their devotion to their crafts and impact on Cabrini College has been immeasurable. We are proud to add them to this elite group.”
Tickets for the induction dinner and ceremony can be purchased for $50 each by registering on-line here. Please note that tickets will not be mailed. All attendees must check-in at the registration table in the Dixon Center prior to the event.
The ceremony is scheduled to begin with a cocktail hour at 6:00 p.m., followed by the dinner and ceremony at 7:00 p.m.
Camp manned the goal crease as a member of Cabrini’s first lacrosse teams, playing from 1994-97. While Camp posted 17 career victories, his name remains atop the Blue and White’s men’s lacrosse record books. Camp is the program’s all-time leader with a 0.693 save percentage, while his 465 career saves rank fifth. Camp also ranks first in single season saves and save percentage.
Neary has been an integral part of the Cabrini community for the last 17 years as the College’s head field hockey and women’s lacrosse coach, as well as the athletic department’s Senior Woman Administrator and Student-Athlete Wellness Coordinator.
Neary has been an integral part of the Cabrini community for the last 17 years as the College’s head field hockey and women’s lacrosse coach, as well as the athletic department’s Senior Woman Administrator and Student-Athlete Wellness Coordinator. She has amassed 176 field hockey victories, raising back to back conference championship crowns in 2009 and 2010.
Since starting the women’s lacrosse program in 1997, Neary has won 216 games, including 95 percent of her conference games and 13 league titles.
Neary was a two-sport athlete at Temple, playing both lacrosse and field hockey. She was a two-year starter on defense for the Owls’ lacrosse team, earning second team All-American and first team Regional All-American honors as a senior. She also served as a team co-captain during her senior season in 1986. The team advanced to the NCAA Semifinals in both Neary’s junior and senior seasons. Neary was also a two-year starter for the field hockey team, and a team co-captain as a senior in 1985.
In 2006, Cabrini College established an Athletic Hall of Fame for the purpose of recognizing individuals who have contributed to the success and growth of the athletic program. The purpose is to recognize and honor individuals who have performed with distinction and/or have been instrumental in the overall development and success of Cabrini Athletics.
