Ryan McNulty scored the game-winner with 1:28 to play in the second overtime as host Bishop Shanahan toppled Downingtown West, 9-8, today in a Ches-Mont League boys’ lacrosse game.
The win not only put the Eagles (8-2 overall, 5-1 league) in first place in the Ches-Mont, it was their first win over the three-time defending champion Whippets since 2004 – the first time the teams ever played.
McNulty bounced the winner past Alex Ataifar from 12 yards out.
John Mehok scored four goals for Shanahan and Dylan Alderman added three goals and an assist while
McNulty also had two assists. Anthony Wagner made 12 saves in goal.
Matt Logan scored three goals and Mike Peppelman had two goals and an assist for the Whippets (6-5, 3-3).
