Garnet Valley High School senior midfield-attack Dana Laulis has made a commitment to play Division II lacrosse at Lock Haven University.
Dana Laulis log:
High School: Garnet Valley High School
Graduation Year: 2014
Position: Midfield/Attack
College Choice: Lock Haven University
Club Affiliation: Brandywine Majors
Major lacrosse honors: Philly Showcase Fab 40, Pennsylvania Brine National Lacrosse team, National Tournament Philly Team 4, Penn State 5v5 Champ
What will you major in/study? Chemistry/Forensics
Why did you choose Lock Haven? “I had a pretty difficult time choosing between Lock Haven and Penn State because both schools are phenomenal academically and athletically but Lock Haven gave me the opportunity to play lacrosse at a high level. Coach (Kristen) Selvage, Coach (Katie) McConnell and all the girls on the team instantly made me feel right at home during my visit. Their coaching philosophy and how much like a family the team is all influenced my decision. I can’t wait to be a part of it next year!!”
Outlook for your High School team? “We lost 3 key seniors last year but I’m confident in what this upcoming senior class can accomplish. We’ve all been playing together since 3rd grade so we have our eyes set on conquering the Central League and of course a State Championship.”
Additional Comments: “First I would like to thank my #1 fans; my parents for always believing in me and driving me everywhere whether it be to a tournament, tryout or practice. None of this could have been possible without their love and support.
“Second, I would like to thank my Brandywine Majors coach, Donna Coyne for recruiting me to play lacrosse back in fourth grade. She has shaped me into the lacrosse player I am today and I couldn’t have done any of this without her.
“I would also like to thank my previous Garnet Valley coaches Kate Henwood, Amanda Kammes and Christyann Morello for teaching me the ultimate lesson; I can’t achieve anything without hard work and dedication. No excuses.
“Next, I would like to thank Jamie Wesztergom for always believing in me and seeing my potential.
“Last but definitely not least, I would like to thank my Brandywine Majors and Garnet Valley lacrosse families, you guys are my sisters forever thank you for making the past 9 years the best they could have possibly ever been, I love you all!”
