Philadelphia Wings forward Kevin Crowley has been named Rookie of the Week by the National Lacrosse League (NLL) after his eight point performance in the Wings’ loss to the Knighthawks this past Saturday.
Crowley and the Wings host the Washington Stealth and celebrate American Heroes at the Wells Fargo Center Saturday at 7 p.m.
Crowley opened the 2012 NLL season, and his professional indoor lacrosse career, with eight points (3G, 5A) and six loose balls. Crowley joined the Wings from Stony Brook University as the number one draft pick in the 2011 NLL Entry Draft. He played in 60 games for Stony Brook, scored 131 goals and recorded 101 helpers making him the only player in school history to tally more than 100 career goals and assists.
“Kevin’s performance Saturday night showed why he was the first overall pick.” Said Wings General Manager and Head Coach Johnny Mouradian. “He has the potential to be a real game changer and we are looking for him to flourish in those close games that come down to the final minutes.”
Tickets to see the Wings host the Stealth are available by phone at 215-389-WING (9464) or online at WingsLAX.com.
The Philadelphia Wings are owned and operated by Philadelphia Wings L.P., whose principal owners are Russ Cline, Chris Fritz and Michael French. Comcast-Spectacor serves as the marketing, promotional, advertising, sponsorship and publicity arm of the Wings.
