Marie McCool and Stephanie Toy each had five goals and an assist to lead Moorestown to a 17-9 victory over host Council Rock North Wednesday in non-league girls’ lacrosse.
The Quakers – ranked No. 4 in the country by MaxPreps.com – improved to 2-0 while dealing the Indians (4-1) their first loss.
Haleigh Dalmass added four goals for the Quakers and Nikki McMonagle added three. Elizabeth Johnson and Megan Kelly played well on the defensive side of the ball and Carly Taglienti came up with three open field draw controls.
CR North co-coach Pat Toner said she was pleased with her team’s performance against a nationally-ranked squad.
Kara Magley had six goals and an assist and Hannah Plappert added three goals and three assists for the Indians.
Vero Beach 13, Upper Dublin 6
The Cards trekked down to Florida to meet a team ranked among the top 20 in every national poll.
Brooke Callahan led Upper Dublin (2-1) with three goals and Kelly Cross added a goal and four assists.
Vero Beach is 14-1 and has been playing games since February 21.
Coatesville 18, Academy Park 4
Ally Diantonio scored three goals to lead the Raiders to the non-league win.
Gabby Lee and Tanisha Joseph each scored twice for Academy Park.
Lawrenceville School (NJ) 19, Germantown Academy 15
Brooke Kiley collected seven goals and three assists and Hanna Bogorowski pumped in five goals to pace the Pats to the non-league win.
Annie Morris had seven goals for Lawrenceville.
Ridley 16, Methacton 10
Jamie Hills had four goals and four assists and Ellen Udovich scored four more to lead the Green Raiders.
Upper Moreland 10, Norristown 9
Lily Sgro had three goals and Kaitlin Taylor made 12 saves to pace the Bears to the Suburban One American Conference win.
Beverly Pate had five goals and Elianne Gilette made 16 saves for the Eagles.
North Penn 20, Central Bucks South 3
Rachel Shaw and Aubrie Stouffer led a balanced NP attack with four goals each. Stouffer also had three assists, and Shaw added a pair of assists.
Brenda McDermott connected for the hat trick and also had a team-high four assists. Laura DeLongis also had the hat trick for the Maidens. Hannah Young, Tara Rogers and Kaitlin Suzuki each had two goals.
Central Bucks West 8, Central Bucks East 7
The Patriots opened up an early 5-2 lead with Mary Kate Schwartz scoring four goals and Lauren Wick adding a single goal. West rallied to knot the score on a goal by Elena Romesburg with 1:20 remaining and took a 6-5 lead into halftime after Romesburg connected for her third goal with three seconds remaining in the half.
West took an 8-6 lead with three minutes remaining after freshman Jacqueline Fitzgerald connected on a free position shot.
Romesburg led the Bucks with three goals and one assist while Jess Circuit and Tara Shugars each added a pair of goals. Shugars also contributed an assist, one ground ball, one draw control and one caused turnover. Christy Grezeszak had three draw controls, five ground balls and one caused turnover.
Schwartz led the Patriots with five goals while Marissa Glatt and Wick both added single goals.
Pennsbury 15, Pennridge 9
Joy Hopkins scored six goals while teammates Kelsy Gumbert and Jackie Sweeney each contributed four goals to lead the Falcons.
Jackie Stevens led the Rams with three goals while Taylor Dachowski had two goals. Aerin McHugh, Maddie Maher and Leah Alcott each added single goals.
Pottstown 9, Upper Perkiomen 6
Sidney Sanford, Milan White and Danae Perrymond collected two goals apiece to power Pottstown to a Pioneer Athletic Conference win over Upper Perkiomen.
The Trojans improved to 4-0 in the PAC-10 Frontier Division with the win while the Indians, who got two goals apiece from Kayla Smith and Mia Baringer, fell to 2-2 (2-3 overall).
Boyertown 15, Owen J. Roberts 5
The Bears ran their winning streak to 113 against PAC-10 competition behind five goals from Rachel Engler and three goals and an assist from Haley Wentzel.
Boyertown (4-0, 4-2) tightened up the defense in the second half, limiting the Wildcats to one goal to pull away from an 8-4 halftime lead. Leading the shutdown effort for the Bears after intermission were keeper Lindsay Clinton (10 saves), Devyn Heidelbaugh, Marie Valenti, Emily Moatz, Rachel Perry, Emily Gerhart, Lauren Mengel, Alyse Bingham and Sam Chichearo.
Katie Raichle picked up two goals for OJR (1-3), which got 12 saves in net from Devin Hennessey.
Spring-Ford 15, Perkiomen Valley 4
Kira Gensler poured in five goals while Sasha Wozniak added four to lead the Rams (3-1 league, 4-3 overall).
Maddie Ward chipped in with a hat trick for Spring-Ford, which got single goals from Danielle Rheaume, Kelly Falco, Leann Shaw and Briana Barone.
Liz McShane found the net twice while Becky Gilligan and Courtney White also scored goals for the Vikings (2-2, 3-2).
Pottsgrove 9, Pope John Paul II 7
The Falcons (1-3) broke into the win column as Rachelle Mewshaw collected three goals, including the 100th of her career.
Adding two goals for Pottsgrove was Cierra Walton, with keeper Lindsay Weaver collecting 18 saves.
PJP (0-4 league, 2-5 overall) got two goals each from Gina Dawson and Olivia Torres.
