The Lehigh men’s lacrosse program – now ranked among the top 10 teams in the nation – is holding three camps this summer: a Day Camp, a Rising Senior Showcase and a Rising Junior Showcase.
“We are extremely excited about our changes and additions to our lacrosse camp/showcases,” says Mountain Hawks head coach Kevin Cassese. “We are involved in lacrosse camps to help young men be better. We have made these changes and additions for their betterment.
“Coming to campus is a great opportunity for players from our own area, Lehigh Valley and across the nation to be a part of the Lehigh program, even if it’s for only a few days. They have the opportunity to learn and grow as student-athletes while working with current Lehigh players & coaches, as well as other collegiate coaches.”

Camps being offered for the 2012 summer are as follows:
Mountain Hawks Day Camp + Extended Day (Optional)
Lehigh Lacrosse Mountain Hawk Evening Camp – Grades 1-10
Monday June 18th – Thursday June 21st, 2012 9:00am to 3:00pm (Extended Day – 4:15pm)
This camp is designed to help beginners to experienced players. Our coaching staff will be able to work on the basic skills as well as the intricacies of offensive and defensive schemes. By Thursday of that week their skills/knowledge will improve.
There are fundamentals and then there is the Lehigh Way. We start from square one and focus on being fundamentally sound and technically correct, moving on to practicing half-field and full-field game situations, and applying the skills and concepts from those game situations to the scrimmages. Our skill set will be tested at the end of our week in the Junior Mountain Hawk Skills Competition! Everyone at the end of the week should be feeling more confident knowing you have a strong foundation for future success. Join Us!

Callahan, said “The purpose of the camp is to help campers gain visibility within the recruiting landscape, while helping them grow as players and as people. Not only is this camp good for kids interested in Lehigh, with coaches in attendance in the past from schools like Loyola, Georgetown, Dickinson, Haverford, Washington College it was a chance to be seen by some of the best around the country. And for the campers, there is so much more than just competing in a showcase. They will get skills training and go to some excellent seminars. At the end of the day they’ll have something to take with them to help in their recruiting process.”

Lehigh Valley Rising Junior Showcase (Class of 2014)
July 25-27, 2012 at Lehigh University’s campus, will feature the separation of classes. Last year, there was one showcase for juniors and seniors with a cap on the total number. The Showcase will be run by Lehigh coaches and players with assistance from other collegiate coaches. The young men will stay at the Lehigh dorms. They will be able to get started on their collegiate visits early. Camp will feature no more than 150 participants.
