Yale’s Deron Dempster scored with just 12 seconds remaining, nullifying an outstanding comeback by the Penn men’s lacrosse team as the Bulldogs defeated the Quakers, 10-9, Saturday afternoon.
Penn (1-6, 0-3) never led in Saturday’s game, but came back from an 8-5 deficit at the start of the fourth quarter to tie the score at 9-9 when Tim Schwalje scored his fourth goal of the day with 5:39 left.
Tim Schwalje led Pen with four goals.
UMass 15, St. Joseph’s 3
Colin Fleming (St. Joseph’s Prep) had two goals and an assist to lead the undefeated Minutemen (9-0) to the CAA win.
Augustus Quinzani scored twice for the Hawks.
Georgetown 8, Lafayette 5
Despute four goals by Brian Bock (Spring-Ford), the Leopards dropped the contest to the Hoyas.
Air Force 20, Mercer 4
Freshman Keith Dreyer (Malvern Prep) led the Falcons’ offense with six points (3g, 3a).
Fairfield 9, Bellarmine 8
Eric Warden (Garnet Valley) had two goals and one assist for the winners (9-1).
Robert Morris 22, Wagner 10
Dave Morton (Hill School) had three goals and five assists for Robert Morris.
Bryant 11, Sacred Heart 7
Mason Poli (Downingtown East) had a goal and an asisst and Cody Isdaner (Episcopal Academy) had a goal to lead Bryant
