The PIAA season begins Friday, and it starts with a bang in boys’ lacrosse.
Two-time state champion Conestoga travels to Baltimore Friday night to face Calvert Hall (3-0), the No. 1 team in the nation in every national poll.
Also Friday, Phillylacrosse.com No. 1 Haverford School plays national power Landon School (Md.) at Navy in Day 1 of the Lacrosseplayground.com Spring Classic.
This year the Phillylacrosse.com Rankings will include teams from South Jersey and Northern Delaware as we expand our coverage throughout the tri-state area.
1, Haverford School (2-0) – The Fords, who have looked strong in wins over MIAA teams St. Paul’s and McDonogh, play todayat MIAA power Loyola Blakefield before the showdown vs. Landon School at Navy. Prev: No. 1
2, Conestoga (0-0) – The two-time state champions hav e quite a test in their opener as they travel to meet Calvert Hall for the Kudda.com Game of the Week. Prev: No. 2
3, Malvern Prep (0-1) – The Friars hope to rebound from Saturday’s 8-6 loss at Loyola Blakefield today when they travel today to St. Mary’s Annapolis, Md. Prev: No. 3
4, Lawrenceville School (0-0) – The Big Red open Saturday at Mercersburg Academy. Prev: No. 4
5, La Salle (0-0) – the Explorers open Friday at Radnor. Prev: No. 5
6, St. Augustine Prep (0-0) – The Hermits open March 31 at Chatham, N.J. Prev: No. 6
7, Episcopal Academy (1-0) – The Churchmen claimed an impressive 11-6 win over Bullis School. They travel to Shipley School today to face the team that knocked them out of the Inter-Ac Invitational last year. Prev: No. 8.
8, Central Bucks East (0-0) – The Patriots open Saturday vs. Allentown Central Catholic Prev: No. 7
9, Salesianum School (0-0) – The defending Delaware state champion Sals will find out quickly where they stand on the national stage when they travel to MIAA power Calvert Hall on Sunday after opening at Caesar Rodney Thursday. Prev: No. 9
10, Garnet Valley (0-0) – The Jaguars open at Hatboro-Horsham Friday. Prev: No. 10
