The official opening of the PIAA season did not disappoint last weekend when Conestoga pulled off one of the most memorable wins in Philly lacrosse history with its scintillating 11-10 come-from-behind win over Calvert Hall, the No. team in the nation.

The win vaulted the Pioneers into the No. 1 spot in the Phillylacrosse.com Rankings and is sure to lift the Pioneers at or near the No. 1 spot in each of the four national polls.

This week’s Phillylacrosse.com Rankings:

1, Conestoga (1-0) – The Pioneers now have the bulls-eye right on this heads. Prev: No. 2

2, Haverford School (3-1) – The Fords look to rebound after a tough 5-4 loss to Landon School at Navy. They play St. Joseph’s Prep Saturday at Cabrini College at 4 p.m. Prev: No. 1

3, Lawrenceville School (1-0) – The Big Red opened with a 15-1 rout of Mercersburg Academy. Prev: No. 4

4, La Salle (1-0) – The Explorers opened with an impressive 10-5 win over Radnor and host Episcopal Academy Friday. Prev: No. 5

5, Episcopal Academy (4-0) – The Churchmen claimed an key 8-4 win over undefeated st. Stephen’s and St. Agnes (Va.). Prev: No. 7.

6, St. Augustine Prep (0-0) – The Hermits open March 31 at Chatham, N.J. Prev: No. 6

7, Malvern Prep (0-2) – I normally don’t take much stock in scrimmages, but the The Friars are hoping a very strong performance against national power Deerfield Academy Saturday will spark them to rebound from an 0-2 start. Prev: No. 3

8, Central Bucks East (1-0) – The Patriots opened with a 10-8 win over Allentown Central Catholic. Prev: No. 8

9, Salesianum School (1-1) – The Sals held their own against Calvert Hall in a 13-5 loss Sunday. Prev: No. 9

10, Garnet Valley (2-0) – The Jaguars opened with tight wins over Hatboro-Horsham (5-3) and Manheim Township (8-6). Prev: No. 10
