From Press Release
Reversible Lifestyle of Farmingdale is proud to announce that it had a successful campaign in raising funds for Canadian All-World goalie and Philadelphia Wings assisant coach Chris Sanderson in his fight against brain cancer.
Reversible Lifestyle sold its stock shorts at a discounted price, and donating a portion of the proceeds directly to Chris’s family. Sanderson, 37, was diagnosed with Glioblastoma Multiforme, a malignant brain tumor, in December 2008. Standing by his side are Brogann, his loving wife, and their two little girls, Stevie (5) and Clementine (3).
Sanderson is a valued part of the lacrosse community, and has been involved in all areas of the lacrosse world. He has battled this terrible disease since 2008, and his spirit and will to beat cancer never wavered because of the love he has for his family.
Sanderson is considered by some to be the greatest lacrosse goalie out of Canada. Sanderson has trained and led the Philadelphia Wings’ goalkeepers since 2005 after a successful lacrosse career at the University of Virginia, which included two trips to the Final Four during his time as a Cavalier.
Sanderson was selected to join the Canadian National team in 1998. Though his team lost to the U.S. in the championship that year, Sanderson was voted to the All World Team, and was also voted the best goalie in the tournament. In 2000, Sanderson joined the NLL and was a member of the Wings’ 2001 championship team. He made two more appearances in the World Games in 2002 and 2006.
In 2006, Chris was an instrumental part in Canada’s first-place finish. Also, he became the first goalie to earn the All World designation twice. Most recently, in 2010, Sanderson represented Canada again in the World Lacrosse Championships despite going through extensive chemotherapy just months earlier.
Reversible Lifestyle’s co-owner Steve Panarelli, who played for Chris while being a member of the NLL Philadelphia Wings organization, heard about his latest struggles with cancer, and felt compelled to give back to such a great person.
“Chris was great to me during my time in Philadelphia both on and off the field, and once I heard he needed help, I jumped at the chance to lend a hand any way I could,” he said. “I decided, along with my partners, Steven Prehoda and Len Panarelli, to help raise funds for his family by selling Reversible Lifestyle shorts and donating a portion of the sales to help assist his wife and two young girls. Chris is a great guy, and anyone who knows him will echo exactly the same type of sentiment.”
Reversible Lifestyle would also like to thank the following retail partners for their support: Lax World, Commonwealth, StickHead Alabama, StickHead Louisville, Blatant, and The Annex Shop. These retailers purchased product from Reversible Lifestyle that helped give back to this great cause. Their generosity is greatly appreciated, and Reversible Lifestyle cannot thank them enough for their continued support for Chris and his family.
