Archmere Academy (DE) senior defenseman Joseph O’Connell has committed to play Division III lacrosse at Gwynedd-Mercy College.

Joseph O’Connell log:

Joe O'Connell

High School: Archmere Academy (DE)

Graduation Year: 2012

Position: Defense

College Choice: Gwynedd-Mercy College

Club Affiliation: Team 302 Lacrosse

Major lacrosse honors: Earned first team All-Conference and honorable mention All-State.

What will you major in/study? Business

Why did you choose Gwynedd? “Dana Lindstrom played a huge part in my choice to commit to Gwynedd. He and his assistants are dedicated to building a winning tradition and that is something I want to be a part of. Also, the academics and location of the school are perfect for me.”

What is your HS team’s outlook for the season? “Even though we graduated a lot of key players last year, we have a great group of guys with a lot of experience. We hope to continue our success for the upcoming year.”

Additional comments: “I would like to thank my family, especially my Mother, for all the love and support throughout this process and all my life. Also, I would like to thank the coaches of Team 302 Lacrosse, Jay Motta and Keevin Galbraith. Lastly, I would like to thank the Archmere coaching staff, Head Coach Noel Breger, Todd Penza, Greg Cephas, and Dereck Hutchinson.”
