Maple Zone boys’ recruit: Haverford School rising senior attackman Hupfeldt commits to Penn

Haverford School rising senior attackman Reilly Hupfeldt has committed to the admissions process at the University of Pennsylvania to play lacrosse in the 2014-15 season. Hupfeldt will spend a post-graduate year in 2013-14.

Major lacrosse honors: 2011 Nike Blue Chip, Member of the 2011 Haverford School National Championship Team, 2011 Philly Showcase All-Star, 2011 & 2012 Team Philly, 2012 Under Armour Underclassmen Philadelphia Team

Why did you choose Penn? “I choose the University of Pennsylvania for the excellent academics and the opportunity to play for Coach (Mike) Murphy and his staff. I also wanted to play with my brother (Chris, a rising sophomore attackman) for two years.”

HS team’s outlook for 2013: “Our team’s outlook will be better than people think. We will be young, however, we will work hard with one of the best coaching staffs in the country.”

Other comments: “I would like to thank my parents for letting me do all the camps and tournaments that allows a player to be recruited and for supporting me the entire time. I would also like to thank Coach (John) Nostrant, (Mark) Petrone, (Travis) Loving, (Erik) Blindenbacker, (Paul) O’Grady, (Mike) Morsell, (Jason) Christmas and (Ebe) Helm.”
