Maple Zone boys’ recruit: Conestoga rising senior defenseman Prestipino commits to Army

Conestoga rising senior defenseman Nick Prestipino has committed to play Division I lacrosse at the United States Military Academy at West Point.

Graduation Year: 2013

Position: Defense

College Choice: United States Military Academy (West Point), Direct admit

Club Affiliation: Mesa Fresh 2013

Lacrosse honors: Two-time PA state champion, Peak 200 All-Star, Blue Chip All-Star

Academic Honors: First Honors every semester

Major: undecided

Why did you choose Army?:
“I felt really comfortable with the coaches and players. Plus, serving in the army is a lifelong dream.”

High school outlook for 2013: “It’s really good. Although we are losing a lot of seniors, we have a lot of young talent that will step up. Also, most of our defense is returning.”

Other comments: “I’d like to thank my coach, Brian Samson, for guiding me through the recruitment process. I also want to thank Coaches (John) Sims and (Pat) Campbell and Mr. (Kevin) Rudd for all the support with the Mesa Team.”
