Fallston (MD) senior midfielder Rachel Barile has made a verbal commitment to play Division I lacrosse at Temple University.

Club Affiliation: Skywalkers

Major Lacrosse Honors: Maximum Exposure at the University of Maryland, State and Regional Champions for High School 2012, also we won two championships for club this summer, Under Armour Champions Cup in Downingtown PA and the IWLCA Capital Cup in Midlothian, Va.

Academic Honors: National Honor Society, Spanish National Honor Society, Distinguished Honor Roll, Minds in Motion

Major/Study: Biology to eventually become a physician’s assistant

Why did I choose the school? “I chose Temple because I really liked the the campus and how it was so full of live. Even though it is in the city, I really loved the campus and everything the school has to offer. Not to mention I really liked the coaches, Coach Jen (Wong) and Coach Bonnie (Rosen) really made me feel welcome and I know they will be great coaches and teach me a lot, so that was also a huge deciding factor in my decision. Temple also is not too far from my house, maybe an hour and a half tops so I can go home every once in awhile when I want.”

HS team’s outlook for next season: “As a senior this year, I am really going to have to step up along with the other five seniors this year to fill some big shoes. We lost 18 seniors last year who all were unbelievable players and really impacted our season because of their pure talent. We are going to have a lot of teams looking to beat us this year because we won states. I feel like if the other seniors and myself and the underclassmen work hard and keep a positive outlook on things, we will be fine. We have all winter to rebuild and then when it comes to the regular season be ready to go. We have a lot of competition this year, but we also have the talent, the dedication and love for Fallston lacrosse.
